ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL EVENT!!!!
Thanks again Capt. Danny and Kristen for hosting our 2008 Wish to Fish Louisiana on kayaks. Thanks for your wonderful hospitality and making this event a great success.
Thanks to everyone that helped with this event from collecting fish for fish ID to actually being there and participating in one of the many activities. Cast netting, dip netting, baiting and checking crab traps, trawling, fish tagging, and kayak fishing were some of the activities offered to the girls over this two day excursion. Each of our events is so unique and I depart from each one hoping that we have encouraged the children to gain a passion for fishing and the outdoors. Thanks to all of you I truly believe that this event was quite successful in accomplishing this goal. The girls arrived in Grand Isle on Wednesday a little timid and unwilling to touch the bait (live shrimp) or the fish they landed. By the time Thursday evening came along most of the girls were not scared of a thing...willing to grab their own live shrimp, bait their own hooks, take fish off their hooks, and even give the fish a little kiss (picture attached). When it was time to go home the dock was full of girls fishing their lil' hearts out for that last "FISH ON" before they had to leave. Thanks again for all of your support.
